Embedded Networks and Microgrids
Reduce energy costs and share the benefits
Ideal for multi-tenanted properties, embedded networks or microgrids provide savings and operational efficiency along with increased independence and improved resilience.
An embedded network is where electricity is supplied to a multi-tenanted building or area through a privately owned and managed supplier rather than a licensed retailer. Embedded networks tend to buy (or generate) electricity in bulk and then on-sell it to the customers/occupants of the area or building.
A microgrids can be thought of as a small ‘subset’ of the electricity grid that provides energy generation and storage at a local level. They can incorporate renewable energy generation (for example, from solar panels or wind turbines) as well as battery energy storage.
